These waters are beaming with bass, catfish, walleye, crappie, perch, muskie, sunfish, sturgeon, northern pike and muskie. Quality walleye fishing is the big draw here. 212 miles of shoreline wrap around this 19,000-acre lake in the northeast part of the state, at Mercer, WI. Springstead landing, Turtle Flambeau Fisherman's Landing and the Donner's Bay Resort area are the primary access points to the lake. There are also areas along the roads, near the lake, for shoreline access to fish from the bank. Fishing is good during the warm months, and can also be good for ice fishing, any time there is safe ice in winter. Canoes, kayaks and all variations of fishing boats work well here.
